A Little Bit About Me

In today’s post, I wanted to give you a little bit of information about myself.  A little bit of my history in piano, and just a few personal things I thought you would like to know.  So, let’s get started!

I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6.  I was going to start when I was in Kindergarten but the teacher (my former Pastor’s wife) thought it would be best for me if I waited a little bit longer until the next year and then I would definitely be ready.  I am so glad that I did.  Every since I started taking lessons on day 1, (now 25 years old) I’ve never looked back with regret.  Now there was  a time when I wanted to stop so bad and my parents would not let me stop.  I am so glad they didn’t.  If it wasn’t for their encouragement and the support of others as well, I most likely would not be doing what I am doing now and be where I am at today.

Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, I left my home church, Berean Baptist Church and joined the Lexwin Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, the first Sunday of December in 2014.  At the time when I first joined, I assisted in playing the piano and organ and sang in choir.  I now serve as the Church pianist and I teach piano there also.

Last of all, I like to read, read and  write poetry, take photos, try my hand at drawing, drink coffee and hang out with my friends.  God has given me such an amazing support group and for that I am thankful. It’s the support and encouraging words of friends and family that keep me going.

I thank God for giving me the ability to play the piano.  It is my hope and prayer that I will be a blessing and light to all those who come under the sound of my music.  If I could be of any service to you, please do not hesitate to let me know!

Much Love,

Joshua Harrison
